BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

It seemed like a whirlwind! Here a shower. There a shower. Everywhere a shower. On June 30, in the evening we went to Morningstar Baptist for another baby shower for Ann-Marie. It was so much fun. They did this really crazy skit that had all of us laughing. Joy was so thoughtful and asked if she could take over my camera and take photos for me. That sounded great to me. Thanks Joy! The first Wednesday of the month I volunteer for Girl Scouts. I love working in their store. So on July 1, Ann-Marie picked me up. Girl Scouts were having a baby shower for her that morning. With my camera in my purse, I thought that I would get a few photos of this shower...wrong. Usually we have two volunteers, but Marylou was on vacation. So I ended up folding and pricing shirts for Camp McCormick and holding the fort down. However, I did enjoy a wonderful breakfast plate of California Pie and a fruit salad.

After Ann-Marie and I had lunch, she rushed me home so Gary and I could pack and leave for Watertown. We would be leaving there to get up to the Wisconsin Dells. We got these wonderful free tickets from Tammy to see several free events. Thanks Tammy!

About 4:00, Jan, Darryl, Gary and I headed for the Dells. We stayed at a very nice place for us old people...no need for a water park. We were just spending the night.Beautiful grounds. The next morning Jan and I were able to get us a cup of tea from the office and just sit and relax. The Dell Creek Motel was even on the main drag.
That evening before the Tommy Bartlett Show we had dinner at a very nice and must add not cheap place called House of Embers. MMMM those spareribs just melted in your mouth. It was funny to us later about the different places we had eaten. House of Embers, Howie's for breakfast and in Johnson Creek we ended our trip with supper at Hi-Way Harry's. All eating places started with the letter "h".

Before the ski show began, I enjoyed a hugh ice cream cone. Gary had his dessert at the House of Embers. The four of us were not too thrilled with the first half of the show but throughly enjoyed the second half. The best part for me was....

Dave The Horn Man.

The next morning, July 3,we enjoyed a relaxing morning and after eating at Howie's, we headed for House on the Rocks. If we had know how long this was going to take us to go through, we might had made other plans. But we started around noon, and about 4:00 p.m. we had a hard time getting the third stage in....actually I think we sorta ran through that stage.:)

Here we have Darryl, Jan and Gary going into the Infinity Room. "No thank you." was all I said. And the next photo will tell you why.

Folks, I don't know about you, but that looks scary to me. Gary even said he felt it sway a little. But the House on the Rock was beautiful. So much to look at and so little time.

When you get to the top of the house, you can go outside. Jan remembered that Darryl and her have of photo of them taken at this very spot a long time ago. That was so much to see. I may do a slide show.

On July 4th, we went to the Berg farm for lunch. And since Caleb was born on the 4th of July, we were able to enjoy watching him blow out..

ten candles.

Before long it was time to head home and meet up with Ann-Marie, Brett and Al to go to the fireworks in Beloit, WI. As always they were great. Always adding new ones every year. So It was quite a busy time around this household. Our next event will be the arrivial of

Grandson Samuel.

You DID have a busy weekend! I was so happy you were able to come to ALL of my showers with me, so you could soak up all the time we've waited! Thanks for the wonderful photos - I still can't believe you went to the House on the Rock! With your fear of heights, even! Go, you!

I have fond memories of a trip to the House on the Rock! I remember loving the infinity room, but now I am not so sure!
