Still learning to click the right pictures. I know I'm not the smartest of the Rehfeldt...and you all get to see and read it. I'm so lucky.

Preparing for the BIG 90th!!!
Last Thursday evening, Gary and I had Ann-Marie, Brett, Candice over for supper. Candice, Ann-Marie and I had the project of making party favors for Mom's 90th birthday. Candice and Ann-Marie cut little hearts out with the saying Agnes Theresa (Yes I have a Mother Theresa) and the date 9/24/17 on them. My sister Carol had made them up and sent them to me. I cut pick tulle and ribbon for the packaging. We put pink M&M in the tulle, wrapped a pink ribbon around that with the paper heart on the outside. It was a fun evening and I'm thankful for Gary who did all the clean-up in the kitchen. Hope you can see the imprint of the M&M's..."Happy 90th" on one and "Agnes Rehfeldt" on another M&M.

Did We Really Save Money
As I laid in bed last night, I started thinking..(a rare thing for me) as the rain came down in buckets.
Yesterday when I was shopping at Hilander near our home, I passed th bargain table. I could of passed it up, but after all I am a REHFELDT! They had boxes of Cocovavia for $2.50 each (they usually run $4.99 a box) Now Cocoavia is a heart healthy snack..that's what it says on the box. Now lets figure, $2.50 x 6 equals $15.00. Plus I remembered I had coupons from Hilander - $2.00 off the purchase of 2 boxes, and I had two of these couponds. So now I have reduced my cost to $11.00. (You math major are you with me?) So let's see $4.99 x 6 equals $29.94. Now that's a saving of $18.94. Not bad! But they had a product for us OLD people (like me)to help reduce the wrinkles under our eyes (ye, I'm vain too!) They said the original cost was $18.00 and had reduced it to $9.00. So I purchaed it I was somewhat upset when I stopped at another Hilander to find they had the same product on sale too. However, they said it was original $12.00 and I could get it for $6.00..my lost of $3.00.
I say all of this because of something my sister, Jan said (one of my smarter sisters at least smarter than me...although we were playing a new game word she had taught my mother and I last week. It's a card game where each card has one or two letters on them. You start out with three cards and get to draw one when it your turn and then discard one. Once you have spelled a word in your hand you can lay those cards down. Now each new game you add another card...so instead of 3 cards you now get 4 cards to spell a word. Well, we finally got up to 8 cards. I don't remember my word, but I laid my word down first, forcing my sister and Mom to have one more turn .Jan had two words "fin" and "fin" (no I"m not kidding) and had to subtract the other 2 cards from her score) each care have points on them) Mom had two words like "go" and "say" hence she had to subtract points from her score. As Jan was writing the points down for all of us I noticed (I'm not very observance - you could wear the same outfit everyday and I probably wouldn't take note)her 2 discared cards with the letters "a" and "l" hummmm "fin" "fin" I said you know you could have spelled "final"! "Now you tell me." she replied. maybe somewhat brighter than me, but not a whole lot.)
Now where was I....Oh yes, SAVING MONEY. After our fun time at the Bent and Dent we were eating lunch at the Sand Burr in Brodhead. Jan said something to the effect " You know after all the money we spent on gas and food did we really save money in the long run?" ( She been hanging around her husband WAY too much. We REHFELDT's don't think like that!)
Perhaps ther is truth in what she said, but are we going to change? OF COURSE NOT, WE'RE REHFELDTS Any thoughts???? Like you REHFELDT need major help.

A Shopping We Will Go
Ever heard of the stores..Bent and Dent Stores? Well the Rehfeldt sisters have. Oh what fun it is to find brand names canned foods for so much more less than the regular stores have them priced at.
We started the day by picking our mother up, who wanted to come along just for the ride. My sister, Jan had spent the night, so after picking up mom we headed for my sister Louise in Brodhead. It was a rainy day. We picked up Louise and then headed for Monroe, Wi. to that wonderful store that we have fun looking for bargains.
The Lord was gracious as always. The rain did stop every time we had to get out of the car. That is really important, because Mom has a walker and it just made it easier to get it out of the trunk of the car.

Happy Birthday Ann-Marie!!!
Twenty-nine years ago today our daughter, Ann-Marie was born. It was a cold, August morning when Bob rushed me to the hospital. The hospital staff told him to hurry and get his gown on if he wanted to see the birth of his baby. We named her after her grandma Trotter, Anna Marie. We debated to get her a middle name as her first name seemed so long. But after 11 years of marriage, we decided a middle name of Joy would be perfect because of the great joy we knew she would add to our lives. We celebrated her birthday Friday evening with pizza and games.

Happy Birthday Andrew
Last night Gary and I headed for Dixion, Il. to celebrate our grandson, Andrew's 10th birthday. He will turn 10 on August 18th. For his birthday we all went out to Ryan's Steak House in Sterling, Il. for supper. What varity of food...we held back on dessert since we had purchased a cake.
Back in Dixion we enjoyed chocolate cake with ice cream...son-in-law, Dave was full so skipped dessert...not ME. I love cake and especially CHOCOLATE.
Andrews opened his gift from us..A Razor scooter. He had fun trying it out in the living room. Both Gary and I were happy that he liked it! (Thanks goes to his mom, Camille for the help in picking a gift for him)

Heilman Reunion 2007
Sunday was very hot but that doesn't stop the Heilmans for a fun family get together. This year both our daughters were able to attend with their family. The food was sooo good. Gary's brother Donnie cooked beef, chicken and pork on the grill. Everyone brought such good desert and a good varity of salads. We purchased the lawn golf game (the real name is Top and Toss Pro Game). It was fun to see the grandkids play it. Actually Brigitte was very good at it..she only 5 but she had a mean throw

Lawn Golfing at Sister Louise's
In July my brother Dave, Sister Jan and her husband along with Gary & I met at my Sister Louise for lunch....in case you're wondering NO the sisters are not NUNS. Just regular down-to-earth non-nuns.
After lunch we played the new lawn game..golf. It was the first time for all of us except Jan and Darryl, who brought the game. We had lots of fun and much laughter...even if we had to let the men win.
